The Middle School program at Sage Hill
[edit]In 2023, Sage Hill School announced its plan to be the first 7-12 independent school in Orange County. With a projected opening date for grades 7 and 8 in August 2026, Sage Hill shared it would accept applications for the inaugural 7th and 8th grade classes during the 2025-2026 school year.
The Newport Beach Planning Commission unanimously voted to approve the development of Sage Hill’s middle school on December 7, 2023. This action allows for construction of the three-story middle school building and increased Sage Hill’s maximum student enrollment from 600 to 750 students. The project will also add a second gymnasium with seating capacity for more than 1,000 people.
Following a nationwide search, Dr. Joseph Moody was named as the founding Director of Middle School effective July 1, 2024.
