Events?
[edit]Why are most of the events listed negative? 213.240.234.212 20:56, 12 September 2006 (UTC)
- It's the 13th, and it often falls on a Friday. You do the math. Sept. 13, 1999 also happens to be the date of the fictional nuclear mishap that serves as the starting point for the TV series Space: 1999. Where should fictional things like that be listed? Asat 03:56, 18 July 2007 (UTC)
- Important world events often are negative - deaths, terrorist attacks, natural disasters, accidents, riots etc. Not many happy things are important to the world. This is just as true of every day of the year, the Fri 13th thing is superstition. Fictional events are not important nor real, hence they should never be included on a Day article. The only place that fictional events should be stated is on the articles for the relevant films, TV programmes, plays, radio programmes etc. 89.195.132.179 (talk) 07:19, 14 September 2010 (UTC)
If you google this it shows up everywhere and it's been 'celebrated' at my past two jobs, why is this not considered a valid holiday? Someone noted it as being made up by one person, but if you google it that does not appear to be the case. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 12.196.83.178 (talk) 15:18, 14 September 2007 (UTC)
- According to the Wikipedia article it is only official in Russia. It does not seem to be important enough to include here. 89.195.132.179 (talk) 07:19, 14 September 2010 (UTC)
Roald Dahl Day
[edit]Not sure if this is just a British thing or not, but might be worth adding regardless.24.208.206.162 (talk) 04:40, 27 August 2008 (UTC)
- Not important enough to include as an observance; he is included in the Births section. 89.195.132.179 (talk) 07:19, 14 September 2010 (UTC)
Incorrect day
[edit]"The temple of Jupiter on Rome's Capitoline Hill is dedicated on the ides of September. "
Why did this article appear on September 13??? Needs to be moved to correct day. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 12.69.65.2 (talk) 18:32, 13 September 2010 (UTC)
- The ides of September is the 13th. The ides are on the 13th for every month except March, May, July, and October, where they fall on the 15th. See Roman Calendar#Months. Winston365 (talk) 19:09, 13 September 2010 (UTC)

Edit Request - Animal Deaths
[edit]Mary the Elephant's Death in 1916 may be a notable event, but it's my understanding that the Births and Deaths are supposed to be restricted to human beings. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 206.223.168.206 (talk) 16:24, 13 September 2012 (UTC)

Niall Horan
[edit]He was born 13th September 1993, as a world famous musician it makes sense for his name to be on this list.
- He might be famous but as per Wikipedia guidelines, he doesn't have his own page, which is a requirement. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.100.112.247 (talk) 00:44, 1 January 2015 (UTC)

John Smith
[edit]It seems odd he is described as Shadow Chancellor, which he was 1987-1992, rather than the higher posts of Leader of the Opposition and Leader of the Labour Party which he held at the time of his death. Should this be changed? Dunarc (talk) 19:38, 13 September 2015 (UTC)
Holydays and observances - Feast of the Cross - Assyrian Church of the East
[edit]If you click on Feast of the Cross you find Syriac Church of the East listed as having this feast on Sept. 13. No mention is made there of the Assyrian Church of the East. If you go to Assyrian Church of the East the Feast of the Cross is not mentioned. I understand there is a bit of complexity with which church is which, and what it is called, but as the Wiki articles stand now, "Assyrian Church of the East" should be removed from here and replaced with "Church of the East" (current title of the article about the Syrian Church of the East). --2607:FEA8:D5DF:F945:DC57:79F9:D1BD:E702 (talk) 21:51, 13 September 2019 (UTC)
