[edit]Wondering how to edit this U.S. City Entry?
The WikiProject U.S. Cities standards might help.
Actually a Colony?
[edit]Not clear what that mean in this context. "a group of people who leave their native country to form in a new land a settlement subject to, or connected with, the parent nation"? No. "any people or territory separated from but subject to a ruling power"? Doesn't sound right. "a number of people coming from the same country, or speaking the same language, residing in a foreign country or city, or a particular section of it; enclave: the Polish colony in Israel; the American colony in Paris." This town is mostly American right? Need a definition here. Isaac Rabinovitch (talk) 18:40, 25 January 2013 (UTC)
Latin colonus "tiller of the soil, farmer" --see Online Etymology Dictionary. In the late 19th and early 20th century utopian socialists, the back to the land movement, and conservationists were all proponents of colonization in a sense different from colonialism. -CJ — Preceding unsigned comment added by 204.210.118.212 (talk) 03:01, 25 September 2014 (UTC)
