Yes it is, thankyou :-). -fonzy

CCIR Doesn't CCIR stand for "Comité consultatif international des radiocommunications" instead of "Comité consultatif international pour la radio"? See French Wikipedia article.

What to the letters "BT" stand for in the "recommendation"? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.62.172.170 (talk) 04:39, 5 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Needs a better title

[edit]

The title of this article is extremely nerdish jargon. It should be changed to "ITU Radiocommunications Sector".
Wikipedia is not a resource for specialists. A Wikipedia article should be written and titled so as to be helpful to any reader who has a legitimate need to know about its topic. While editors must assume that the reader has enough background knowledge of math, physics, computers etc. to make sense out of the article, that assumed level should generally be well below that of an expert in the field. History is way too skimpy

[edit]

The CCIR, which later became the ITU-R, had a long history that deserves to be documented in the Wikipedia. Who founded it, why did it merge with, etc... Jorge Stolfi (talk) 01:23, 20 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
