Expanding University of Texas at Austin's Tech Ecosystem
[edit]The page does not sufficiently address University of Texas at Austin's Texas Innovation Center, established in January 2020. This center provides extensive support for startups within the Longhorn community, offering commercialization guidance, co-working spaces, mentoring services, and funding opportunities. It serves as a crucial hub for promoting innovation and entrepreneurship among University of Texas researchers and students. At the same time the page does not include any updates about UT Austin's Commercialization Economic Impact and Startup Pipeline since 2009.
Hence, I would like to add a brief overview of the Texas Innovation Center in the research section. Let me know how you all think. I also would like to add a brief update about UT Austin's Commercialization Economic Impact and Startup Pipeline as of 2024.

- Please don't add promotional material to the article; write neutrally and avoid gushing adcopy. Additionally, it's best to use reliable, third-party sources instead of sourcing directly to the entity you're writing about. Sam Kuru (talk) 15:12, 23 March 2024 (UTC)
Adding more up-to-date information for Student Life section
[edit]Hello everyone,
I've noticed that the information under the Student Life section is somewhat outdated. Therefore, I'm planning to add more up-to-date information, including the number of enrolled students in Fall 2023, as well as the three most popular majors for undergraduate and graduate students in 2022.
Additionally, I came across a sentence stating that SAT/ACT scores are encouraged but not required. However, I found information indicating that starting from Fall 2025, students applying for admission will be required to submit their SAT/ACT scores once again. Therefore, I will update the information to reflect this new requirement.
I'm open to any advice regarding my plan. Rjy1 (talk) 05:01, 23 March 2024 (UTC)
- I also plan to add more up-to-date information under Residence section including residence halls' prices.

Upcoming Edit to Athletics for UT Austin
[edit]Hi Everyone,
I have been reviewing UT Austin's athletic section and believe that I can improve upon it. I plan to update the Athletics section of the University of Texas at Austin page with a more comprehensive history and list of achievements about the athletics at UT Austin with a focus on the football and basketball programs. This will include information on championships, significant games, notable coaches, and contributions of prominent players to the Longhorns' legacy.
I will work to ensure that all additions are well-cited from reliable sources, and maintain a neutral point of view that Wikipedia requires. I welcome any input on this project, particularly from those who have previously contributed to this section or have expertise in collegiate athletics related to UT Austin.
I aim for the content to be informative, engaging, and reflective of the rich sports heritage at UT Austin. I would be open to all advice on my plan.
Improvements:
Updated Statistics: Including recent wins, rankings, or changes in coaching staff for the basketball and football teams
Historical Context: Expanding the history of both sports to showcase their evolution, traditions, and influence on campus life as well as adding on information about past and current coaches to be highlighted
Championship Details: Providing a more detailed list of national and conference championships, possibly in a tabulated format for ease of reading
Notable Alumni: Listing distinguished athletes who have made significant contributions to the sports and have garnered national attention
Facility Updates: Sharing recent developments in sports facilities, such as renovations or new construction projects

Been working on the History page for UT lately
[edit]I know the History section on the main page isn't meant to be an entire comprehensive section, more of a summary, so I've been working on the actual full history page.
Was wondering if anyone else wanted to come and help!

University of Texas at Austin → UT Austin – WP:COMMONNAME. Theparties (talk) 15:10, 22 December 2024 (UTC)
- Oppose. The full name provides a WP:TITLECON consistent naming convention across all articles on universities and colleges in the United States. Many reliable sources like Forbes and US News and World Report still use the full name. The OP has also made numerous individual RMs on this same issue like this one, which may violate WP:ACROTITLE or use a shorter common name that is rarely used outside a sports/athletic context. Better to stick to the status quo. Zzyzx11 (talk) 15:11, 22 December 2024 (UTC)
- Oppose as unnecessary, unwise, and unhelpful for readers. ElKevbo (talk) 15:20, 22 December 2024 (UTC)

I see no reason why we need to make the title more ambiguous, since the acronym means nothing to the vast majority of people who are unfamiliar with the university. – Epicgenius (talk) 16:15, 23 December 2024 (UTC)
