How is the name of this language pronounced? Is it (IPA) [hərtəvɪn] or [hɛrtɛvɪn] or [hertevin] or even [hɛrtɛvĩ] (the n possibly signifying nasalization as in many orthographies)? — mark✎ 22:23, 15 Feb 2005 (UTC)
The pronunciation is usually ['hɛrtəvən]. I think that is under Kurdish influence; the n is certainly pronounced. The native name for the language is ['so.rɛθ], which is the usual name for all Christian Northeastern Neo-Aramaic. Gareth Hughes 12:37, 16 Feb 2005 (UTC)
