Massive copy editing

This page needs massive copy-editing and wikification. Any takers? --Dante Alighieri 01:21 22 May 2003 (UTC)

The Acid Test

[edit]

The section entitled "The Acid Test" contains unsourced information regarding the status of water resources on a property originally designed by The article's subject. This appears to breach Wikipedia's policy of 'no original research' for biographies of living people. If this information is public , it should be referenced. If it is not, it should probably be removed.

Article lacks overall quality

[edit]

This article lacks balance and appropriate verification. I'm flagging here a major edit to remove an enormous amount of unreferenced material.--Gumsaint (talk) 03:19, 7 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Student years

[edit]

I think there should be some acknowledgement of David Holmgren's student years at the Dept of Environmental Design, TCAE, Hobart (ED). I was also a student at that tertiary free school. My interests were other than permaculture, but it was very apparent that David used that institution better than most did, engaging in many discussions with staff advisers and students focusing on developing the ideas of permaculture. What is said about him at the back of "Permaculture One" would do for a start: "In 1974 David moved to Tasmania to study Environmental design at the Tasmanian college of Advanced Education. His interest gravitated towards landscape design, ecology and agriculture and, during a close association with Bill Mollison, he developed the Permaculture concept as part of his studies." I am doing a bit of research on ED with the idea of starting a Wikipedia article on that creative/disturbing course. If I come across David's Major Study at ED, which was about permaculture, I will mention it here. It would give some insights into how much ED advisers influenced the thinking in "Permaculture One". A lot is my guess. Jed Stuart (talk) 00:46, 7 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

It's a fair statement Jed Stuart talk Just use 'Permaculture One' as a formal reference or any other published works that support this view. This continues to be a heavily trafficked page so lots of interest in the subject still. --Gumsaint (talk) 03:17, 7 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The project doesn't seem to be independently notable from Holmgren's work, where it can be covered. RS appear limited to his own sites an interviews Star Mississippi 20:43, 8 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
