Deletion
[edit]this should be marked for deletion. wikipedia does not keep track of american public schools. Kingturtle 07:07, 10 Apr 2005 (UTC)
- I disagree; if you wanted this page deleted, you should have listed it in VfD. Blanking the page and redirected is not the way to do it. --BaronLarf 19:29, Apr 10, 2005 (UTC)
- First of all, it was determined a long time ago that wikipedia would not have articles for u.s. public high schools. secondly, it was decided in the Sunset High School (Portland) VfD vote that these high schools should redirect to the district page. Kingturtle 20:04, 10 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Moving the page
[edit]A page move to Southridge High School (Beaverton) is imminent, followed by a disambiguation page placed here, unless someone can show why this Southridge is significantly more notable than the one in Kennewick, WA (Southridge High School (Kennewick)). Matt Yeager 01:30, 15 November 2005 (UTC)
Number of high schools in Beaverton School District
[edit]The number of high schools in the BSD has changed from 7 to 8 as the International School of Beaverton has/will extend[ed] into the 9-12 grades, and is recognized as a high school by the BSD.Twigge 17:27, 4 January 2007 (UTC)
unsourced section that could/should be readded
[edit]I'm removing the following because it isn't sourced. Given sufficient sources, it can and should be re-added.
In 2004, Southridge received a series of complaints due to drama teacher Wade Willis' attempt to produce the play 'The Laramie Project'. Principle Gordon shut down the production of the play due to 'profanity and sexual content'. After an extended debate involving parents, teachers, and many students, a specially formed 'play committee' voted 4-7 to allow the play to be shown. The school was picketed by the Westboro Baptist Church, a radical group from Kansas, after the decision was made.
