Space Shuttle
[edit]I removed "*2005 - Space Shuttle Discovery launches in the Return to Flight program." because it hasn't launched yet and though it almost certainly will successfully, this isn't something we should jump the gun on. Christiant 17:31, 13 July 2005 (UTC)
- I'm glad I removed it; the launch was postponed until at least Saturday. - Christiant 01:35, 14 July 2005 (UTC)
Now I said it had been delayed. Why did you remove it?
I removed it, and for the most obvious of reasons: a shuttle NOT launching is not the least bit notable. --Calton | Talk 13:41, July 23, 2005 (UTC)
Coincidence inclusion
[edit]Is this of note and can it get in the article:
Arthur Dee was born on the 13 July 1579, and became the physician to Tsar Michael I of Russia, who died on 13 July 1645. 87.113.16.225 (talk) 09:44, 11 July 2009 (UTC)
- Sometimes people who know each other die on the same day of the year; it is not notable, and hence such coincidences should not be mentioned. The Tsar is probably notable enough to be incuded in the Deaths section, but Dee isn't. Lkjhgfdsa 0 (talk) 03:01, 4 January 2010 (UTC)
Caesar's birthday
[edit]Would it be acceptable to add Julius Caesar with a footnote that sources either name July 12 or July 13 as his birthday like I did in the July 12 article? --Neozoen (talk) 07:38, 13 July 2015 (UTC)
- No. If there is no definite date, it doesn't get listed anywhere. -- Mufka (u) (t) (c) 09:25, 13 July 2015 (UTC)
- Fair enough, thank you for the quick answer. --Neozoen (talk) 09:54, 13 July 2015 (UTC)
- Actually, I’m looking at the Wikipedia entry for Cæsar: which says his birthday was on the [[1]]. I also note that the article for the 13th July says he was born on the 13th July, 44BC: the year of his death! Can we have some sort to tidying up, please?
DJ LeMahieu
[edit]Should be added to the list of people who were born on July 13th. He won a NL batting title in 2016 with .348 which was better than all MLB players, made an all star team (2015), and won a gold glove award (2014). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.78.45.250 (talk) 21:50, 14 April 2017 (UTC)
- Honestly, I agree. I think the issue is that all of these dates of the year articles have "Births" sections that are already way too long so we're going to be so picky that we don't add anybody but superstars. Like, Buster Posey and Madison Bumgarner have that factor while Jon Gray and Joe Panik just don't. Unfair as it is, LeMahieu has a tough time standing out when he plays with Nolan Arenado and Trevor Story so the tendency will be to delete just to try to keep these lists at a manageable level. CityOfSilver 22:42, 14 April 2017 (UTC)
Imo there should be a criteria needed for adding athletes. For instance any MLB player with at least 1 all star game on his resume should automatically be included on pages of days people were born, as should winning an MVP, or batting title. Any player who wins those awards prove they are among the best MLB players. Maybe something could be implemented which non MLB all stars are not notable enough to be on a date of a year page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.78.45.250 (talk) 23:27, 14 April 2017 (UTC)

[edit]There is nothing in the linked article that says anything about July 13. There is no feast attached to this title of Mary. It should be deleted from here. --2607:FEA8:D5DF:1AF0:AC6F:1875:1B06:6208 (talk) 11:33, 23 July 2020 (UTC)

Remove "Birth of Julius Caesar". He was born on the 12th of July, not the 13th. Thank you. Tacitus (talk) 13:20, 7 August 2020 (UTC)
- Not done. There's a source attached to this claim. Do you have one that disagrees? –Deacon Vorbis (carbon • videos) 14:36, 7 August 2020 (UTC)
Death of Naya Rivera
[edit]I removed her from July 13, 2020 due to a lack of significance. The events of a date should not be cluttered with the obituaries of minor celebrities. I admit that I should have moved her to the death column.Vgy7ujm (talk) 03:20, 13 July 2022 (UTC)
