Non-notable businessman. (Delete) Kbh3rd 03:34, 3 Sep 2004 (UTC)
- You think? (Keep) To quote from his obit: "Mr. Forstmann was on the advisory boards of Georgetown and Marymount College. And he served as the vice chairman of Empower America, a Washington nonprofit group that promotes free markets, which was founded by Jack Kemp, the 1996 Republican vice presidential candidate." He also played a leading role in the RJR buyout. And Forstmann Little has had a big effect on business...but the media hasn't payed as much attention to them as the KKR bad boys. Just because the article hasn't been finished yet doesn't mean he's not notable. -Joseph 03:38, 2004 Sep 3 (UTC)
- I didn't catch much of that from a quick Google. I see understand your point to a degree. I'm unconvinced but will leave it to the community's judgement here. And I'm sorry if I jumped the gun on an article still under development. Kbh3rd 04:10, 3 Sep 2004 (UTC)
- There's a lot more in the book Barbarians at the Gate that I think will add to it. He's on some of the nasty lists that Democrats have built up as far as top Republican contributors are concerned. And they even portrayed him in the movie! His brother was worth $800mil in 2001. I haven't verified that he was worth the same as his brother, but if so, it would make Nicholas Forstmann one of the 400 richest Americans at the time of his death. And before I created the entry, there was already a link for this guy at Georgetown University under "Famous Alumni." -Joseph 04:11, 2004 Sep 3 (UTC)

- Keep, sufficiently notable. Comments by User:N328KF above make a better case for his notability than the article itself. Copy comments to article and put it on the cleanup list. Wile E. Heresiarch 05:19, 3 Sep 2004 (UTC)

- Keep. As Wile E. Heresiarch notes above, the article could have done a better job of stating the case for notability. Average Earthman 09:29, 3 Sep 2004 (UTC)

- Do you have an explanation as to why, or are you being a contrarian? -Joseph 20:29, 2004 Sep 8 (UTC)
