An internet radio show. Since it's one line and then the link, it was nearly a speedy delete candidate for advertising, but I await consensus. Geogre 01:03, 5 Sep 2004 (UTC)
- IMO it is not advertising; it is bare info. Mikkalai 03:11, 5 Sep 2004 (UTC)
Resolved by moving content to List of Internet stations and redirecting. -- Netoholic @ 01:29, 5 Sep 2004 (UTC)
- DO NOT take unilateral actions. Do you know that it is appropriate as a redirect? Has anyone else agreed? What you are doing is very much against consideration and etiquette. Geogre 01:38, 5 Sep 2004 (UTC)
- Be bold! Someone who knows better can always come back, restore the content, etc. See Wikipedia talk:Votes for deletion#Proposal - suspension of VfD for my thoughts. -- Netoholic @ 01:43, 5 Sep 2004 (UTC)
- Make haste slowly. Thanks. Wile E. Heresiarch 06:29, 6 Sep 2004 (UTC)
- Those are your thoughts. There is no policy like that at present. Not allowing anyone else to see the article, as it was, is not boldness: it's presumptiveness. Please let the entry stay for some time before being so "bold." Also note that the subject of early removals is being discussed in more than one place. Preemptively acting in this way is no better, IMO, than someone else deciding that nothing should be deleted and then voting "keep" on everything. Geogre 01:49, 5 Sep 2004 (UTC)
- My feeling is that changes should generally be avoided whilst voting is in progress, so that everybody is voting on the same text. I don't argue that all progress should be halted, but re-directing is probably extreme. Why not propose the redirect and get feedback from others taking part in the VfD discussion. -- orthogonal 01:53, 5 Sep 2004 (UTC)
- Please continue this VfD philosophy discussion at Wikipedia talk:Votes for deletion. -- Netoholic @ 01:57, 5 Sep 2004 (UTC)
- I note that there is a longstanding de facto policy that one can prove a page should not be deleted by improving it until it is no longer delete worthy. —Morven 05:05, Sep 5, 2004 (UTC)
- There is. That is not, however, what Netoholic did. (I took the liberty of restoring chronological order of the comments by moving your comment after Netoholic's) -- orthogonal 05:24, 5 Sep 2004 (UTC)
- I agree that adding to pages or editing existing material can improve it. The trouble with making a redirect is that it obscures the existing content. A redirect makes it harder for a voter to make an informed judgement. Wile E. Heresiarch 06:29, 6 Sep 2004 (UTC)
- Netoholic, please note that this is also under discussion on the Village Pump right now. The fact that this is under discussion multiple places at once is even more reason to proceed slowly. Geogre 01:59, 5 Sep 2004 (UTC)

- Support redirect. Oppose "premature" delististing from VfD. However I wouldn't make big deal out of this; nothing destuctive happened. The info is both in history an in the redirect. A warning is enough. Be bold is OK when you decided to make decision all by your own. But it becomes not OK when the issue becomes public; this is impolite as a minimum. There is usually no reason to be in a hurry. Mikkalai 03:11, 5 Sep 2004 (UTC)
- Comment: See below for what was destructive. I do not believe this was boldness, after all, although I would prefer to. Also, the question arises whether we wish to handle all deletes with redirects, which is the upshot of Netoholic's unilateral decision. Sometimes an item is not notable, and then it will not be searched, so there is just a delete. I believed that was the case here, when I made the nomination. Geogre 03:21, 5 Sep 2004 (UTC)
- Keep in mind that Slugradio is an internet radio show. Now consider that Alexa has no ranking for Slugradio's main page, nor their streaming audio site. Non-notable, advert. Delete, do not redirect. SWAdair | Talk 04:49, 5 Sep 2004 (UTC)
- Delete. Sanction unilateral redirector. Ambi 07:10, 5 Sep 2004 (UTC)
- Delete: advert, no evidence of notability. Wile E. Heresiarch 06:29, 6 Sep 2004 (UTC)
- Delete and unmerge content from List of Internet stations. Totally unnotable. -- Graham ☺ | Talk 21:37, 6 Sep 2004 (UTC)
- Delete. Non-notable knockoff netradio show. — Gwalla | Talk 00:59, 7 Sep 2004 (UTC)
