Wiki Syntax + Math tags

[edit]

Re: "Either they're fixed, or the problem-finding script has trouble with math tags" in Modern portfolio theory.

You're correct - it does have trouble with math tags. I'm trying to add checking these to Wiki Syntax (check that every maths tag that's opened is then closed, and that every maths tags that's closed was open). In the current run though, it reported every single math tag ever used as wrong! Clearly that's not right ... so I didn't include these in the lists of problems. However, it looks like it also gets confused when there's wiki syntax inside math tags (like triple quotes), and this was something I didn't count on. So I just wanted to say sorry about that, and I'll try and get it fixed for the next run. And also, thank you for helping out with fixing Wiki Syntax! All the best, -- Nickj 01:10, 4 Dec 2004 (UTC)

The Humungous Image Tagging Project

[edit]

Hi. You've helped with the Wikipedia:WikiProject Wiki Syntax, so I thought it worth alerting you to the latest and greatest of Wikipedia fixing project, User:Yann/Untagged Images, which is seeking to put copyright tags on all of the untagged images. There are probably, oh, thirty thousand or so to do (he said, reaching into the air for a large figure). But hey: they're images ... you'll get to see lots of random pretty pictures. That must be better than looking for at at and the the, non? You know you'll love it. best wishes --Tagishsimon (talk)

Import of version history after translation

[edit]

Hi, After translating an article from english WP to german WP there was need to import the version history in addition. so as I have translated this article from spanish WP to english WP, I'd like to ask for import of the version history of es:Eurybacteria to en:Eurybacteria. Do you know how this could be done? Kind regs, --Ernsts (talk) 18:04, 14 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I don't really know what the best way to deal with history of translated articles is. I would think that the "translated from es:Eurybacteria" message in en:Eurybacteria's history would be good enough, but you should probably ask one of the wikipedia help groups. --Wiml (talk) 05:05, 16 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
