life peerage
[edit]It's customary on retirement for retiring Deputy Speakers of the House of Commons to be offered a life peerage. Is Sir Alan going to be offered a peerage, or was he offered one and declined? In that case, a brief note could be added to his page, since it's unusual for peerages to be declined. 98.10.165.90 (talk) 20:57, 18 July 2017 (UTC)
