Gonna break it out
[edit]I'm going to break this out between cullinary mustard and mustard plants, and a disambiguation page for cullinary mustard, mustard plants, MUSTARD, mustard gas and the color mustard.
- Culinary mustard is made from the seeds of several mustard plants, the different species making different types of culinary mustard. If you make sure that connection remains fully discussed, you'll be fine. Mustard gas has nothing to do with mustard: break that out to your heart's content. Mustard as a color seems like a rather slender encyclopedia entry, once it's separated from mustard: well defined below without using the word "mustard": a feat! A Mustard (disambiguation) page is always a good idea. --Wetman 08:15, 21 September 2005 (UTC)
The color of mustard
[edit]What is mustard as a color?? It says at U.S. hundred dollar bill something that implies mustard must be a color. 66.245.127.199 21:49, 30 Aug 2004 (UTC)
- Mustard, as a color, is a bright yellow ochre -- a slightly dirty yellow.
- I found a couple of claims that the HTML hex code #ffcc11 is mustard, although this is somewhat darker than what I think of as mustard. --Pekinensis 19:20, 15 Mar 2005 (UTC)
- A bit orangey for mustard too. --Wetman 08:15, 21 September 2005 (UTC)
Redirect
[edit]Someone should redirect this to the plant or the condiment and place this page at mustard (disambiguation). That someone who has just typed in "mustard" would be looking for anything other than these two is highly unlikely. Readers shouldn't be confronted with so much disambiguation cruft when seaching for such a common topic.

Cluedo / Clue
[edit]For ease of navigation I added the link so "Cluedo" would reference directly to its article here in Wikipedia. I'd never heard it called that here in the U.S. and the link would have been an easy way to find the info. Greenbomb101 (talk) 18:03, 20 December 2007 (UTC)
Primary topic
[edit]Per the comment above, I propose that the primary meaning of the word "mustard" is the condiment, and that Mustard (condiment) should therefore be moved to this title, with the current disambiguation page being moved to Mustard (disambiguation). Comments? bd2412 T 18:03, 3 May 2011 (UTC)
- Any objections to this proposed move? Going once... going twice...
- Don't personally think it is clear enough to justify a move. Not too many incoming links to cope with either. DuncanHill (talk) 14:18, 8 May 2011 (UTC)
- It has enough incoming links to have made this month's list of the 500 most linked to disambiguation pages, and it appears that new links are added regularly. bd2412 T 16:39, 8 May 2011 (UTC)
- It's far preferable to dab the links than move where the primary meaning is not absolutely clear. I took a quick look at some of the incoming links and even in a culinary setting it's not always clear of the condiment or the seed is intended. DuncanHill (talk) 16:49, 8 May 2011 (UTC)
- Going through the links now, I must agree (although they lean heavily in favor of the condiment, there are enough to still make a perpetual task of fixing errant links), so I'll withdraw the primary topic proposal. Cheers! bd2412 T 17:58, 8 May 2011 (UTC)
