Consensus on John 5 as current/former member on the Rob Zombie page
[edit]Hello, I'm bringing this to the talk page as I have tried to engage a user a few days ago but have not heard back yet, but they are still reverting changes to anyone who puts John 5 as no longer a member of the band. I think we need some consensus so revert back and forth's can be mitigated.
As we are aware, it was announced recently that John 5 (guitarist) joined Mötley Crüe replacing Mick Mars who has retired from touring. As I said in my post on the talk page of the user reverting any change for John 5:
"I noticed you changed John 5 back to current members for Rob Zombie. I believe this to be inaccurate. If you look at John 5's biography on his website, it states that he has left to join Motley Crue as a live/touring guitarist; "John 5 continued to work with Zombie until Fall 2022....In October 2022, it was announced that John 5 would be joining Mötley Crüe as live guitarist following the announcement that Mick Mars would be retiring."[1]. Also I believe that Mike Riggs taking over guitar for the Oct 6 Aftershock Show with Rob Zombie is an indicator. I don't think John 5 has ever missed a show w/Zombie and from his Instagram he was on holiday with Tommy Lee around the same time. You also mentioned "until it's officially announced". I checked back on Rob Zombie's website for the last band member to leave - Tommy Clufetos - and there was no news on the site making that official announcement. In fact the only two official announcements seem to be noting that Joey Jordison would be playing drums in 2010[2] and in 2011 when Ginger Fish took over[3]. Lastly, according to news reports (and checking their own Instagram follows), Zombie and 5 are no longer following each other. I suppose we will see if John joins Zombie in December when he plays with Alice Cooper[4] but given one no show and the recent statements, I'm guessing this won't happen.."
Please can I get consensus from other Wikipedia's on this. I think there is an argument to be made that Mike Riggs (who played at Aftershock in 5's place) is too early to be added to current members again, but I do think it is clear that 5 has left Zombie's band.
I don't want to make any changes to the page here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rob_Zombie#Solo_band_members until we can get some consensus.

*UPDATE* 10 Nov, 2022 I've now heard back from the editor who has reverted changes to John 5 being a member of Rob Zombie, and they are waiting for an official statement from either camp, but I have looked at previous Zombie band members leaving (Clufetos and Blasko for example) and there does not appear to be any official statement from either camp at the time. I do believe that the updated October 2022 bio from the official John 5 website addresses this by saying "John 5 continued to work with Zombie until Fall 2022". This suggests finality. Still would like some consensus from others on this so we can all have peace of mind moving forward.

rob zombie band page
[edit]I think it's absolutely ridiculous that there's no Rob Zombie band page. 2600:1700:93B0:6B50:BC6A:C67:7A27:7D40 (talk) 07:57, 26 February 2023 (UTC)
Rob Zombie Official Name
[edit]Can it just be mentioned once or combined into one statement with some context. No less than 4 places throughout this article is it mentioned that he changed his legal name to Rob Zombie

Should the page include a Critical Reception section?
[edit]Should this page include a critical reception section for Zombie's filmography? How could it be clarified that it only refers to his films and not his music? JPHC2003 (talk) 00:48, 21 August 2024 (UTC)
