Dog types vs breeds: There are some discussions about where to draw the line between a type and a breed at the Dog projects/Categories talk page. The question is what to do with an article that identifies a grouping of dogs but that some people might search for as simply a breed--e.g., Foxhound is what both Americans and English call their respective breeds, but more generally they are 2 separate breeds, American Foxhound and English Foxhound. So in this case, we've put Foxhound under both breed and type. Elf | Talk 23:07, 14 Sep 2004 (UTC)
Yes, I see that now. It was a case of writing before engaging my brain.--Wcrowe 15:23, 15 Sep 2004 (UTC)
I suspect the question will arise again in the future, which is why I answered the question that you didn't ask. ;-) Elf | Talk 18:25, 15 Sep 2004 (UTC)
