[edit]I restrained myself. I almost wrote that her portrayal of Mary in The Greatest Story Ever Told was the ultimate mother role. :) -- Zoe
Biography
[edit]No mention of Fonda, Stewart, Leland Hayward, Margaret Sullavan... Selznick did not "bring" her to Hollywood, he didn't even know her at the time. Selznick does not bring completely unknown provincial hick actors to Hollywood.Wjhonson (talk) 16:53, 11 June 2011 (UTC)
Birth year
[edit]Although her obits in reliable sources like the NYT and the Guardian say 1918, census results (she's listed as 3 and a half in 1920 and 13 in 1930) and the Social Security Death index [1] indicate 1916 to be correct. Crisso (talk) 18:03, 27 May 2015 (UTC)
