Too many list entries, excess puffery and promotion, copyright violation in images
[edit]For the last two weeks, Myxxd has been adding to the article, but to my eye it looks like far too many unreferenced list entries, an excess of puffery and promotion, and a bunch of outright copyright violation in the form of non-free images brought into the article. The origin of the band should be one place (Dublin), but Myxxd divided the group to have two origin locations, Sligo and Dublin. Far too many associated acts were added, contrary to the instructions at Template:Infobox musical artist#associated_acts. References such as this one have been misinterpreted by Myxxd, to show the band in unrealistically good light. Poor English has been inserted, along with unreferenced analysis. That's why I reverted the whole mass of changes.
If someone else wants to ferret out the useful additions and return them to the article, that would be fine with me. Binksternet (talk) 05:48, 19 February 2018 (UTC)
- I completely agree. This article is severely bloated and desperately needs to be streamlined. It's over 146kb in size! Too much fancruft.--Krystaleen 09:49, 5 February 2019 (UTC)
Disambiguation Boyzone Vocal Group
[edit]Boyzone are not a “band”. To be a “band” the members have to play instruments. Boyzone are a “Vocal Group”. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.17.63.190 (talk) 18:06, 14 October 2019 (UTC)

[edit]This article was probably written by one or multiple fans of the band, which is why we have problems with neutrality, sensationalism, too many details, and poor wording.
POV problems tag (Actual quotes in article):
"Amidst rumours of a split, Westlife released their first greatest hits album in November that same year titled Unbreakable - The Greatest Hits Vol. 1, which zoomed all the way to No. 1 in the UK and Ireland."
"Also during that time, Westlife bagged another Guinness World Record for most public appearances by a pop group in a 36-hour period."
"Over the years, Westlife has become so much more to us than just a band. Westlife are a family. We would like to thank our fans who have been with us on this amazing journey and are part of our family too. We never imagined when we started out in 1998 that 14 years later we would still be recording, touring and having hits together. It has been a dream come true for all of us. Kian, Mark, Nicky and Shane"
Rewritten & Routine Coverage/Sensationalism tags:
The article goes over every minute detail of their history. Just look at the lead section. It takes several minutes to read and consists mostly of minute, fine details. The lead section alone is twice as big as the one for Jesus Christ. The whole article is like this. Each section is over-filled with minute details and sensational writings of their history. Why come “is” and not “are”?
[edit]Hi! I’m just asking you all that IggyTheSwan made a mistake that he changed back to “is” instead for “are”, because Westlife ARE a group. I’m good in English, so you know that. :) 2A00:801:7A2:6EDA:6C2B:D1D:6958:6176 (talk) 08:37, 26 April 2023 (UTC)
