Real Name
[edit]I was looking at a wrestler bio site and it said that Jamie Noble's real name is James Gibson.... is this true? i thought it was Jamie Howard and thats why this page is here... oh well anyway get back to me to confirm either way and if need be the page will be moved. Paulley 16:22, 5 Mar 2005 (UTC)
- I thought so too. OWW has James Gibson as his real name. He only wrestled as "Jamie Howard" for a brief time in WCW prior to the Jamie-San gimmick. IMDB does have Jamie Howard as the name of his entry but they also have: Birth name James Gibson on his bio page. I think Gibson is his real name, though I can find no concrete proof either way. Tromboneguy0186 18:49, 15 March 2006 (UTC)
- Wikipedia is the only site that I've found that lists Jamie Noble's real name as Jamie Howard. I know that onlineworldofwrestling.com, Gerweck.net and Cagematch.de (among others) all list his real name as James Gibson. Personally, I bet his real name is James Gibson so I suggest that his bio be moved to James Gibson (wrestler). --JFred 01:49, 22 March 2006 (UTC)
- I would be inclind to agree but i have known Cagematch to be wrong i.e. Zebra Kid's real name is listed under Roy Knight, when infact it is Roy Bevis... and i would really hate to move it onto a page with (wrestler)... --- Paulley 09:37, 22 March 2006 (UTC)
- But, like I said, Cagematch isn't the only site that lists his real name as James Gibson. We could always move it to Jamie Noble to avoid any confusion. --JFred 05:41, 28 April 2006 (UTC)
- Yea i guess that resonable... next time anyone talks to Mr. Noble/Gibson/Howard.../San try and find out --- Paulley 08:52, 28 April 2006 (UTC)
I emailed Steve Gerweck of Gerweck.net and asked him since he did interview Jamie Noble at one point. Here's what he said in his reply:
- I did interview Jamie, but I don't recall his real name coming up in our discussion. I believe its James Gibson because thats how Dave Meltzer has always listed it, and he is someone that knows many of the wrestlers's personally.
--JFred 17:29, 28 April 2006 (UTC)
- After I got the email back from Steve Gerweck, I emailed Dave Meltzer, and this is his response:
- WCW records said James Howard, TNA said James Gibson. Probably James Howard Gibson, but I don't know for sure.
- --JFred 20:38, 28 April 2006 (UTC)
Wait, this doesn't work
Jamie Noble (born either James Howard or James Gibson)
That's fine if the page is at "Jamie Noble," but currently, it's not Tromboneguy0186 03:09, 5 June 2006 (UTC)
- Well, since we're not sure if his real name is James Howard or James Gibson, how should it be? --JFred 03:18, 5 June 2006 (UTC)
- It's written like the name of the entry is "Jamie Noble," which I think would be fine, but is not currently the case. Tromboneguy0186 04:09, 5 June 2006 (UTC)
- Really late to this conversation, but regardless of his real name, it is perfectly acceptable to have this article located at 'Jamie Noble' as that is the name he is most known by and according to Naming conventions that's the way to go. As an example Samuel Clemens is under Mark Twain since that is what most people know him by. --Bobblehead 22:08, 7 August 2006 (UTC)
IMDb
[edit]The thing about IMDb is that their contributions come from users just like Wikipedia's do. They're screened by administrators, but pretty much everything that gets sent in is posted. IMDb also has a tendency, especially with wrestling characters, of titling their main entries after character names and not birth names. See Palmer Cannon, Low-Ki, H.C. Loc, Chief Jay Strongbow, even 'Homicide' (which doesn't take into account stage names like The Rock and Hulk Hogan which functionally ARE their real names now). - Support I hope I did that correctly. I think the page would be best at "Jamie Noble" since his real name is unknown and Noble is probably his best-known ring name. Tromboneguy0186 04:10, 5 June 2006 (UTC)
- Support same reason as Tromboneguy0186. --JFred 04:11, 5 June 2006 (UTC)

Kane and Knox
[edit]Shouldn't there be a mention of his angle where he tried to last more than 30 seconds in the ring with Kane and Mike Knox? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.175.84.163 (talk) 00:12, 25 March 2009 (UTC)
Modified Figure Four Leglock
[edit]Are you sure he invented the Modified Figure Four Leglock? I believe Yoji Anjoh had been using the move for years before Noble "innovated" the move. Racingfan1923 —Preceding undated comment added 20:35, 13 November 2009 (UTC).
- Yoji Anjoh may of used the move first in another country but it wouldn't stop Jamie Noble from innovating it in the US. Afro Talkie Talk - Afkatk 12:39, 15 November 2009 (UTC)
