Where is Streetly

[edit]

- Phenomenal amount of nonsense being put onto this page about "ties with Birmingham & Sutton Coldfield" - removing. This is opinion and not fact. Musicalphilosophy (talk) 12:10, 26 January 2012 (UTC) - Actually Streetly is indeed Geographically in Walsall Borough. We are in the Post Town of Sutton Coldfield. We pay our council tax to Walsall Council --Musicalphilosophy (talk) 10:21, 31 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Errrmmm... IINM, Streetly's only *postally* Sutton Coldfield - I think it's actually either in Walsall Borough or Lichfield District (can't remember which). 82.36.26.229 05:57, 9 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Streetly pays both Walsall Council and Birmingham City Council tax. As Sutton Coldfield is it's post town Streetly much more associated with it and is now most definately more related with Birmingham, so it should go down on the page as part of Sutton Coldfield opposed to Walsall.

To say Streetly is wholly in Walsall is incorrect as it has a Birmingham Post and Telephone Code. To say Streetly is in Birmingham is also incorrect as it lies in the borough of Walsall. Streetlys closest ties are with Sutton Coldfield which is well documented on the internet. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Nigel C. Fortune (talkcontribs) 14:43, 16 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

"Streetly" pays no council tax. It is whereever the local authority boundaries say it is. Phone codes and postal codes don't locate a street. Dougweller (talk) 15:38, 16 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I know phone and post codes don't locate a street. I was merely pointing out that it is incorrect to state Streetly is entirely in Walsall (or Birmingham). With regards to the local authority Streetly used to be in Staffordshire until the creation of West Midlands County in 1974. N. C. As someone who was born and raised in Streetly i can attest to the fact that the village is also not 'in' Sutton Coldfield. It is physically separated from the town by Sutton Park. N. C. Fortune (talk)
