I'm generally an infrequent contributor to Wikipedia, for reasons which are explained in an essay [1] by Wikipedia co-founder Larry Sanger. Briefly, it's because the inmates are running the asylum (my words, not Larry's). Occasionally I'll drop by and bang my head against the wall here for a while, but I usually don't stay around long. Life's too short. So if I don't respond right away to your post on my Talk page, it's probably because I've returned for the time being to the real world. Sorry.

This should have gone on the talk page...

"If he hadn't done that, I don't think we'd be talking about this."

Sorry, I must be a bit confused about the dates. When exactly did the cabal around SBVT form? I thought we had documented that the ever-so-reluctant non-member Schachte was involved in this at least as far back as 2003. Did O'Neill manage to write that whole darn book since Rassmann volunteered for Kerry back in May?
As to the anti-war stuff, fine. That's absolutely a legitimate topic of debate for a presidential candidate. No question about it whatsoever. So, why not talk about that instead of this absolute garbage. For what it's worth, I'm a (reserve) Navy officer myself. And I find this attack on his war record rather than his political position on the war absolutely beneath contempt. My God, how low can these people sink? My dad lost a leg in the Korean war from an American artillery shell. You want to tell me he's not a hero? You want to tell me he doesn't deserve his Purple Heart? I have never seen such a disgraceful, low, contemptible smear campaign in my life. While George Bush was keeping the skies of Alabama safe from Communism after jumping to the top of the National Guard list because his Daddy was powerful. While Dick Cheney had "other priorities in the 60's" than military service, and got off on 5 seperate deferrments. While these guys were loafing and drinking beer John Kerry volunteered for service in Vietnam. And to see him get smeared over that service really pisses me off. And I'm not even a Democrat, but I'm certainly growing into an anti-Republican.
Now, that's my personal POV. It's never been a mystery. I told you right up front. Neither has yours. But, I am perfectly willing and able to write a NPOV article. And one reason is that I think SBVT's argument stinks. And a fair article, will be a credible article, and their argument will still stink. Wolfman 22:51, 3 Sep 2004 (UTC)
