Ataturk's visit to Aube in 1932
[edit]"Aube is perhaps best known for the 1932 visit of the late Turkish president Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, who signed a friendship treaty with France there." This needs to be verified. According to official Turkish and French sources, Ataturk visited France only once in 1910 as "attaché militaire" of the Ottoman Emperor. No other visit is recorded officially. However a recent evidence shows that he visited France in 1917 during the heights of I.World War. He was a guest of Guillaume II last Prussian King at The Castle of Haut-Koenigsbourg where his autograph was discovered recently in one of the visitor books. However, after 1917 there is no official or unofficial records showing that he visited France. Despite my personal efforts to find a source to verify this information, I have failed to find one. Thus the author of the above, should verify the reliability of this information, otherwise it needs to be removed. Billyg (talk) 17:26, 3 December 2010 (UTC)
