Welcome to the Wikipedia contribution guide. This guide assumes you are familiar with the basic Wikipedia formatting and guideline information covered by the Tutorial--if you haven't read it yet, it is highly recommended you read it before reading this guide. Wikipedia is a collaboratively edited Internet encyclopedia that you can contribute to. This series of pages will give you the basic skills and knowledge you'll need to start helping us build this project.
Each page will discuss a useful feature of the wiki software, a piece of style and content guidance, information about the Wikipedia community, or important Wikipedia policies and conventions.
Keep in mind that this is a guide, not a definitive policy page or an extensive manual. If you want more details, throughout the guide there are wiki links to other Wikipedia pages. Those pages have more information on the topics here. You don't need to look at them now, but you can if you want. You might want to open them in a separate window, so as to stay on the guide.
Note: The location of links mentioned in the guide assume you are using the default page layout ("skin"). If you are logged in as a registered user, and have changed your default preferences, they may be in other locations.
Ready? Then let's begin.
