ERROR IN TEXT

[edit]

"Supersaturation is a measure of the deviation of a dissolved sodium chloride crystal from its equilibrium value."

should we replace NaCl with the word "Salt" - It can apply to any salt, right?

Not only to any salt but rather to anything that goes into solution with the solvent. Necmon (talk) 17:24, 26 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

== Is anybody out there? == YEAA And does anybody really care about supersaturation?

Who are you? Does anyone care about you?

Without Supersaturation you would not have a convient little pill to take when you had a headache or fever.Witout supersaturation there would be no Aspirin. Aspirin crystals are grown using supersaturated solutions.

Also, there wouldn't be any tasty mugs of Guinness outside of a pub, were it not for supersaturation. :)

Also without supersaturation there wouldnt be a wikipedia page with a picture of a girl who looks like she is holding a giant wang. This article needs to cite sources. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.197.211.35 (talk) 22:42, 14 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Explanation

[edit]

I'm surprised that this article makes no mention of exactly how supersaturation occurs in the first place (as in, why does it happen?). Is this known? 24.15.197.87 (talk) 01:27, 31 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Re-write

[edit]

The article has been extensively re-written. It was full of un-referenced and vague material which have been removed. 2 generic pictures have been removed as unverifiable. Supersaturation in the different media are now discussed in separate sections and more examples are given, resulting in greater clarity of presentation. The sub-topics are presented in a more logical order. Petergans (talk) 15:02, 21 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
