User talk:Jiminy Krikkitt
Hello there, and a warm welcome to the project! :) Sorry about the belatedness of my reply; I could preface this with one of those template welcome messages, but you seem to know your way around fairly well already. (But just to be safe, there's always our welcome page for a good place to start.) I hope you like it here and decide to stick around.
Regarding the Liberal Democratic Party of Australia conflict: things appear to have settled down for now; If I'm reading the block log correctly, Rhobite stepped in and gave both parties a 24 hour cooling off period. The IPs apparently correspond to Chuck F and Reithy, both of whom breached the terms of a temporary injunction imposed by the arbitration committee. I wish it were always so simple; there's no need to protect the page as long as the edit warriors can be blocked. If I had the time and the patience, I'd try to mediate; then again, I wouldn't be an "official" mediator so they'd be unlikely to listen to me. Plus I'm lousy at it. :) Happy editing, -- Hadal 03:07, 17 Nov 2004 (UTC)

looking at pl:Liberal Party of Australia...
[edit]Thanks for the raving review of my work :) I do realise that the actual name of the party is "Australian Democrats" without "party" in it but the literal Polish "Demokraci Australijscy" sounds a bit iffy I think (perhaps it's just me) – anyway, it links to a yet non-existing pl:Australian Democrats so that should be OK once I write it. Football/soccer
[edit]Hi, clearly we are going to disagree on what term should be used in Australian articles, but I would like to commend you on your efforts at finding compromise (particularly on Sydney FC and Melbourne Victory) - I had never thought of using 'the game' or 'the sport' etc until I saw your edits - and have gone ahead to the other A-League clubs to do the same. Hopefully this will be the end of a protracted (and to be honest, pretty damn boring) edit war! Cursive 13:48, 20 August 2005 (UTC)
- Of course what I meant to say was Sydney and Central Coast Mariners FC! Cursive 13:52, 20 August 2005 (UTC)

dz language
[edit]where can I find out more about which language codes are used already (even if not in english)? I'd like to move it to an available 2 letter code, if possible, rather than userfying. With my formatting skillz, It'd take me months to redo the templates and get them to link to pages that look just like real categories with the dz (speaker) and dz-N (native speaker) lkinks and whatnot. but have the unique quality of not actually being catergories.
thank you for expressing nominal enjoyment of my dzzl language set-up. McVonn 06:15, 1 September 2005 (UTC)
the dzl beat goes on
[edit]dude- didn't you tell me I should be able to use template:user dzl? fvw is all like no I can't cuz it stands for some language that's not even in wikipedia at all. Why did you think it would be okay for me to use it? could you perhaps hit up the deletion vote and say anything on behalf of me getting a little leeway here? I'd appreciate it. thankz, McVonn 04:17, 2 September 2005 (UTC)

G'day, just wondering if you'd like to join WikiProject AFL. There seems to be a lack of awareness that such a project exists due to the previous inactivity on this site. But it's here, and I hope you will join. Cheers, Rogerthat 07:12, 18 December 2005 (UTC)

Port Adelaide players
[edit]Hi, just wondering your thoughts on the Category:Port Adelaide players. Should it be separate for Port Adelaide (AFL) players, and Port Adelaide (SANFL) players, as well as Port Magpies FC players? Rogerthat 08:13, 14 January 2006 (UTC)

Thank you for voting!
[edit]Hello there! I wanted to thank you for taking the time to vote on my arbitration commitee nomination. Sydney FC nickname
[edit]The problem with setting the nickname to "none" is that if somebody then alters the template with a {{{qif}}} or similar, it won't automatically hide the field. There was some talk about "Bling FC" on the article's talk page, but opinion seemed to be that the moniker had faded from use. Sorry, I forgot you were part of that discussion! ⁂veila# 01:07, 19 March 2006 (UTC)

Small request
[edit]3LevelChess has continued to revert to his version of Sagittarius Dwarf Elliptical Galaxy; I'm worried I wasn't clear enough with my initial WP:3RR warning, so am reluctant to report it, and can't revert any more without violating the rule myself; perhaps you might take a look, as you reverted him yesterday? 12.107.75.130 23:07, 24 June 2007 (UTC)

Football (soccer)
[edit]The debate to rename the term football (soccer) to just simply "football" or "association football" has opened again. Please feel free to give your opinion here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Football_(soccer)_in_Australia —Preceding unsigned comment added by 60.224.0.121 (talk) 02:18, 26 March 2009 (UTC)
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
